I taught a unit on Computer Programming and found that the website Code.org--created by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and other software engineers--was extremely student-friendly. My students thoroughly enjoyed learning how to code by solving puzzles! I highly recommend this website to beginning computer coders!

In this activity, students will use a special Codon Table to transcribe and translate "protein" sentences. Each codon codes for an amino acid word, which will then be put together to make fun-fact sentences. Ex: "TAC – TAG – ATA – GAG – CCT – CCG – TCC – CAC – GTT – ATC" is the blueprint for the protein sentence "start/The average person falls asleep in seven minutes/stop"
